scannerThe Veterinary Referral Center is proud to announce the addition of a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Unit. The unit was installed in September of 2012. MRI is a noninvasive method to produce highly detailed internal images of your dog’s or cat’s body. Being noninvasive and safe, MRI can lead to early detection and treatment by imaging soft tissue and providing information about your pet’s brain, spinal cord, sinus cavities, nose, ears, as wells as joints and internal organs.

The Vet-MR System, introduced by Universal Medical Inc., is the first MRI system specifically designed and calibrated for imaging of companion animals. The images are done while your pet is anesthetized to ensure the best image quality with no movement.
